On the evening of January 29, 2025, a catastrophic accident occurred over the Potomac River near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport when a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter and an American Airlines regional jet collided in mid-air, tragically killing 67 people. Retired Black Hawk instructor pilot Austin Roth knows the aircraft, the flight paths and much of the crew.
